The Gothfather

The Gothfather

Beginning a career in DJ'ing in 1996, The Gothfather started off as a Top 40/Hip-Hop DJ and in time progressed through almost all genres of music (Classic Rock, 80's, New Wave, Country, Techno, House, Rap, etc.). Finally in November of 1998, he was finally given a chance to play the music he loved most... Industrial! From there, he would soon spawn off a sub-culture in conservative-town USA with a flourishing community in tow. Not that people were not there, but now they are no longer afraid to hide, the Freaks do come out, on Wednesday Nights!

After being forced to leave from the original location of his underground night (During that time, Gargoyles), The Gothfather was asked to try his format of Industrial, Gothic and Underground music in a club where he had been previously employed. April 21st, 1999 was the first Wednesday night and is the birth of IGUN. Many years went by and the scene grew in the most unlikely of areas. The Gothfather received support from various patrons over the years and even the assistance of his good friend and co-worker DJ Darks Choir. Without the customers offering their assistance time and time again, IGUN would undoubtedly be a long distant memory.

Well, that is not the case and now after more than 8 years of progress and excitement IGUN is arguably the strongest and best Underground Night in the region. When The Gothfather was terminated from his job at IGUN's previous location (Uptown), he promptly made way down the street to the location where IGUN is currently calling home, Sky Bar! Being fired from the previous club was by far the best thing that could have happened for IGUN and The Gothfather. Now bringing in an average of 400+ people each Wednesday night, IGUN continues to be the leader and innovator of the Underground scene in NW Ohio and SE Michigan.

The Gothfather has also made his way across the country and has played in Las Vegas, NV. With appearances at Sanctuary (Krave Nightclub) and The Attik (Barcode Nightclub), he made a strong impression with his diverse music style and heavy format: Old-School Industrial mixed in with New Wave, EBM, Synth, Power Noize, and a touch of Goth every now and then. With tendencies to play more retro in his style, The Gothfather is always prepared to throw down new heavy True Industrial tracks and German influenced music now and then.

Pleasure Kitten

Pleasure Kitten

DJ Pleasure Kitten has always had a passion for music. At the age of 15, she began sneaking into local Goth/Industrial themed dance nights to hear the artists she loved but could not hear anywhere else, such as Skinny Puppy, Siouxsie and the Banshees and KMFDM. In the years following, she began attending Industrial nights and live shows in other cities, eager to learn more about the music and culture in the Industrial scene outside of Toledo, OH.

After a bit of traveling and moving, she returned to Toledo and made a visit to a night she had heard about just south of the city in Bowling Green, OH. She fell in love with the patrons, the nightclub and the DJ's. After getting to know The Gothfather who took her under his wing, she began to develop her craft of DJ'ing as often as she could. Even if there was only 30 minutes at the very beginning of the night free, she happily embraced it as a chance to share new music with everyone.

Since her start at IGUN, DJ Pleasure Kitten has had the pleasure (no pun intended!) of traveling the US and sharing the stage and decks with many different industrial artists and fellow DJ's. Notable events include her spot at the Motorpop 3 Festival in Detroit, MI with Combichrist, Stromkern, Imperative Reaction and Ayria, the Official Depeche Mode afterparty for the Detroit date of the 'Playing the Angel' tour, the Industrial Revolution in Cleveland, Industrial 101 in Royal Oak, MI as well as opening for such acts as Blaqk Audio, Firewerk, C/A/T, Pigface, Seabound and much more.

Currently, Pleasure Kitten resides in the Detroit-area and works as a promoter for Industrial shows, as well as resident DJ for Elektro-Industrial Wednesdays at Luna.
